It was a logistics and planning masterpiece! Polish goverment has banned all public events. The new rule of law was affecting from 25th March so only few days before the Saturday's gala. However previously the federation owners mentioned that the only way to run the event was the option without the spectators. The organizers at first didn't want to publicize the location of the event, stating that it may cause unncesessary virus threat if the fans gather near the studio. Later they decided to give a misleading location, meanly the city of Wroclaw. Finally it came out it will be Katowice.
FAME MMA 6 venue: Alveria Studios in Poland
However this wasn't the end of the confusion. It was supposed to me hosted by International Congress Centre in Katowice. FAME MMA started the equipment installation and it seemed that the rest will go according to the plan. Well it wasn't to be so smooth. At some point during the last couple of days before the event ICC Katowice decided to terminate the contract with FAME. It must have been a politically-correct decision brought under the influence of local authorities and sanitary inspection. This however didn't mean the event to be cancelled. The owners had a plan B, or even C.
They rushed to move it all to a venue called Alvernia Studios near Cracow. This is one of the most modern film studios in Europe. The facility combines complex film services with investment in its own productions and co-productions. They managed to change the status of the event to a TV show, which is not forbidden during the state of epidemic. All fighters and staff members were tested for the virus and all possible health-security measures were introduced. But that wasn't the end of troubles. Almost until the planned start of the gala at 8 PM fans were kept unsure if it will work out, because of some further rumors. Apparently local police approached the hotel were all fighters and staff members were staying. It was rumored that they were all blocked by the officers. Luckily the police couldn't do anything more than just to ask for IDs and escort them. With a half an hour delay the event finally started. Jest na detoksie!!! First fight of the night came as a surprise in terms of technical quality of the fighters. Former Polish Ex on the Beach personality Ambro managed to defeat Szwecu after three rounds and referees decisions. The fight was rather close, some doubted the decision. Ambro got back on the winning track, as the possible defeat could have ended his FAME MMA career.
Another unexpected final much against the betting odds came from Aroy who defeated Alan Kwiecinski known from MTV Warsaw Shore and his professional MMA record.
Main event belonged to Instagram female celebrity Linkimaster who needed three rounds and decision to win against Zusje. Controversies emerged after Zusje’s performance and ring entrance. This C-class celeb admitted alcohol and drug issues few years ago. She claimed being clean now. However looking at her moves during FAME MMA 6 many doubted.
